Mothibistad community stand together with the police in the fight against crime

MOTHIBISTAD - On Sunday, 18 August 2019 the community of Mokalamosesane came together and launched a street patrol committee.

In order for the community to strengthen the efforts and endeavours of the police in fighting crime, the community of Mokalamosesane believe that the police alone cannot fight crime.

As a concerned community they believe that patrolling their streets can be the best instrument they can utilize in order to make their community to feel free and safe.

The community patrollers will conduct night patrols especially during the weekends. By so doing they will rid the area of crime such as burglaries, robbery, theft, stock theft, rape, assault, etc. in totality in their area.

During the launching, the Station Commander of Mothibistad, Lieutenant Colonel Didimalang Moetsi and members under his command were in attendance. Lieutenant Colonel Moetsi gave the community members guidance as to how to operate.

Moreover, Lt Col Moetsi complimented their commitment in their fight against crime. Over and above he said 'working together with the police will make all the people to feel safe and protected. A relationship between the SAPS and the community will also do away with mob justice cases.

The Cluster Commander of John Taolo Gaetsewe Cluster, Major General Johan Bean also praised the community and the station of Mothibistad for such a marvellous initiative. General Bean encouraged other stations and communities with no street patrollers to do the same. Furthermore General Bean believe that all efforts will lead to a crime free JTG cluster.
