While South Africans continue to celebrate Women's Month, SAPS Barkly East women led by SC Lt Col Adolf took off to the streets of Barkly East to ensure that community members are and feel safe.
The operation resumed at 10: 00 until 16: 00 in the yesterday afternoon. The focus of the operations was on generators of crime. Different role players including Vispol and Elliot K9 conducted routing check-ups to spaza shops and visiting taverns checking compliance and forcing liquor act 2000.
Fines were issued for selling liquor without license and Sorghum beer was destroyed.
Elliot Cluster Commander Col Matshediso Gezani commended the efforts of members by closing down illegal liquor outlets.
