After three rounds of matches in the 2018/19 Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League season, Mlambo Royal Cubs and Acornbush are the two frontrunners in the campaign.
Both Cubs and Acornbush have collected maximum points in their opening three fixtures, putting themselves at the summit of the Mpumalanga version of the nationwide league.
Things will certainly get a bit tougher for both sides in the next coming weeks with some challenging encounters expected as the season shifts gears. Log leaders, Cubs are home to Bakone this afternoon which will be followed by a tricky encounter against Witbank City lads on Saturday, 20 October.
The pace setters will then face Tjakastaad Junior Sheppards who have shown glimpses of brilliance this season. The lethal Secunda M Stars will be next on the cards before the big one against title favourites, Acornbush on Saturday, 3 November.
Acornbush may have collected maximum points in all their three opening fixtures but will certainly be hoping to improve their goal scoring form.
The title contenders edged Nkomazi Royal Eagles 2-1 in their opening match before overcoming Witbank City Lads and Bushbuckridge Bohlabela United 1-0 in their last two fixtures.
