The Portfolio Committee on Rural Development and Land Reform this week will meet with communities of Northern Cape and Free State to receive inputs on the Communal Property Associations Amendment Bill. The Communal Property Association Act was passed in 1996 and has been implemented over the last 20 years. However, there have been some challenges in the implementation of the principal act.
In order for a Bill to be passed there must be extensive public engagements and thus the Committee will hold the following public hearings at 09h00.
11 September 2017 at Ranchville Civic Centre, Ga- Segonyana Local Municipality, Kuruman
12 September 2017 at Kimberley Town Hall, Sol Plaatje Local Municipality, Kimberley
14 September 2017 at Ferdie Meyer Hall, Matjhabeng Local Municipality, Welkom
15 September 2017 at Simson Sefuthi Hall in Mangaung District Municipality, Botshabelo
