Operation Buya Mthetho continue to squeeze the space for criminals in Gauteng as more than 23 suspects were arrested by the police for various crimes on Thursday, 10 January 2019 in Johannesburg North. The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from armed robbery, assault, undocumented persons, dealing in liquor and dealing in drugs.
Illegal electricity was disconnected at various places and unlicensed liquor outlets were closed.
During the operation, numerous items were seized from various areas in Johannesburg North.
The arrested suspects will be appearing at Magistrates’ Courts in due course. Police urge the community to continue working with the law enforcement agencies by reporting criminal activities that are taking place under their watch.
