MOTHERWELL: A two-year-old girl was admitted to Dora Nginza Hospital on 7 January with serious wounds believed to have been caused through an assault.
This followed after the little girl was dropped off at Motherwell Clinic in a hurry by an unknown adult woman at about 11:00 on Monday. She refused to give her own name and only supplied the name “Mazi” of the little girl.
Staff at the clinic immediately had the girl transferred to Dora Nginza Hospital with serious head injuries and where she is currently still on life support equipment.
The SAPS were notified of the incident yesterday, 10 January by the hospital social worker and an attempted murder case was opened. The case is being investigated by the SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit.
Any person with information that might be able to assist police in this investigation, can contact detective Captain Michael Shannagen at 082 779 7292.
